FAQ

    You can download the archive with an extension from your personal account on this site. After successful payment go to 'Account -> Downloads' choose and download extension version for your OpenCart store version.

    If you just installed a new OpenCart module and you’re getting Permission Denied error, it means that your User Group does not have rights to view or edit the module. What you need to do is go to  'Admin Menu -> System -> Users -> User Groups' page, select your user group from the list and hit Edit button. Then select your module both in Access Permission box and in Modify Permission box. Click Save button.

    VQMod is a simple modification system that lets developers make changes in OpenCart core files (system files) without actually editing them.

    For example, if you want to change “Contact Us” page in your default OpenCart theme, you don’t need to edit theme file itself – you can create (or download) vqmod extension file that will change the page without modifying the actual theme file. It’s all done by search/replace technique – vQmod makes changes while loading your OpenCart store.

    What is the benefit of using vQmod instead of directly editing core files? Since there are no OpenCart core modifications, it’s much easier to update OpenCart system and themes, and add new functions to the existing store.

     The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used for the transfer of computer files between a client and server on a computer network.

    Using FTP, a client can upload, download, delete, rename, move and copy files on a server. A user typically needs to log on to the FTP server, although some servers make some or all of their content available without login, also known as anonymous FTP.

    How to get FTP access details?

Please go to administrator menu "System > Settings > Default Store > Edit > FTP tab" and check your FTP credentials. Most likely you entered the wrong login or password. More info >

You need to go to administrator menu "Extensions -> Modifications"  and remove an old modification record (file). More info >

Description

You may get this error when the modifications (changes) required for the extension to work have not been made to the OpenCart core files or the vQmod system is not working properly.

Workaround/Fix

Please check the following recommendations:

  • make sure that you have the latest version of vQmod from the github.com website, otherwise it may not be compatible with your version of OpenCart;
  • if you recently upgraded OpenCart, you will need to re-run the vQmod installer via http://www.yourdomain.com/vqmod/install. You must always re-run the vQmod installer after upgrading OpenCart as the index.php files are overwritten and must be re-modified with the vQmod code;
  • if you recently upgraded vQmod, you may need to re-run the vQmod installer again via http://www.yourdomain.com/vqmod/install as sometimes it will update it's own code in the index.php;
  • when vQmod is working, you should see files in the vqmod/vqcache folder, otherwise check your index.php and admin/index.php have been modified by the installer, if they haven't, read the readme file that came with vqmod and do the changes manually;
  • clear your vqcache from your vqmod/vqcache folder - this should be done after each time you add a new xml file to the vqmod/xml folder.

You can also check the list of some common errors on the vQmod troubleshooting page.

Description

You may get this error if the vqmod/vqcache folder does not exist, which in turn means that the vQmod system is not installed or works incorrectly.

Workaround/Fix

Please check the following recommendations:

  • make sure the vqmod folder contains files other than .xml, otherwise, it means that the vQmod system files were not uploaded to your server and the vQmod system is not installed. Use the following instructions to install the vQmod or if you have OpenCart 2.0 and above, you can use the modification system built into the admin panel (OCMOD) instead of vQmod;
  • check the status of the vQmod system by entering your store's location in your browser, then "vqmod/install" afterwards. If your store is located at "www.mystore.com", the vQmod install (check) page would be located at "www.mystore.com/vqmod/install". The following text will appear on the page if it was installed correctly: "VQMOD HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM!" or "VQMOD ALREADY INSTALLED!".
  • when vQmod is working, you should see files in the vqmod/vqcache folder, otherwise, check your index.php and admin/index.php have been modified by the installer, if they haven't, read the readme file that came with vQmod and do the changes manually;
  • clear your vqcache from your vqmod/vqcache folder - this should be done after each time you add a new xml file to the vqmod/xml folder.
