Description

You may get this error when the modifications (changes) required for the extension to work have not been made to the OpenCart core files or the vQmod system is not working properly.

Workaround/Fix

Please check the following recommendations:

  • make sure that you have the latest version of vQmod from the github.com website, otherwise it may not be compatible with your version of OpenCart;
  • if you recently upgraded OpenCart, you will need to re-run the vQmod installer via http://www.yourdomain.com/vqmod/install. You must always re-run the vQmod installer after upgrading OpenCart as the index.php files are overwritten and must be re-modified with the vQmod code;
  • if you recently upgraded vQmod, you may need to re-run the vQmod installer again via http://www.yourdomain.com/vqmod/install as sometimes it will update it's own code in the index.php;
  • when vQmod is working, you should see files in the vqmod/vqcache folder, otherwise check your index.php and admin/index.php have been modified by the installer, if they haven't, read the readme file that came with vqmod and do the changes manually;
  • clear your vqcache from your vqmod/vqcache folder - this should be done after each time you add a new xml file to the vqmod/xml folder.

You can also check the list of some common errors on the vQmod troubleshooting page.

Description

You may get this error if the vqmod/vqcache folder does not exist, which in turn means that the vQmod system is not installed or works incorrectly.

Workaround/Fix

Please check the following recommendations:

  • make sure the vqmod folder contains files other than .xml, otherwise, it means that the vQmod system files were not uploaded to your server and the vQmod system is not installed. Use the following instructions to install the vQmod or if you have OpenCart 2.0 and above, you can use the modification system built into the admin panel (OCMOD) instead of vQmod;
  • check the status of the vQmod system by entering your store's location in your browser, then "vqmod/install" afterwards. If your store is located at "www.mystore.com", the vQmod install (check) page would be located at "www.mystore.com/vqmod/install". The following text will appear on the page if it was installed correctly: "VQMOD HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM!" or "VQMOD ALREADY INSTALLED!".
  • when vQmod is working, you should see files in the vqmod/vqcache folder, otherwise, check your index.php and admin/index.php have been modified by the installer, if they haven't, read the readme file that came with vQmod and do the changes manually;
  • clear your vqcache from your vqmod/vqcache folder - this should be done after each time you add a new xml file to the vqmod/xml folder.

Description

You may get this message if the OCMOD modification entry with the extension code is not found in the modification list (Admin Panel > Extensions > Modifications).

A red "warning" message means that the changes from the OCMOD modification have not been applied to the core system files and as a result, some of the extension features may not work partially or completely.

A yellow "pay attention" message means that this is not a critical issue since the changes from the OCMOD modification have already been successfully applied to the core system files and the extension should work fine now. But this issue may cause the extension features to stop working after refreshing the modification cache in the future.

Workaround/Fix

Please do the following:

  • for OpenCart 3.0 and above you need to re-upload an extension installation zip-file by the Extension Installer (see picture 1);
  • for OpenCart 2.0 - 2.3 you need to re-upload an extension installation zip-file (FTP credentials are required in the store settings) or a single modification file with the extension .ocmod.xml from the uncompressed installation zip-file (FTP credentials are not required in the store settings) by the Extension Installer (see picture 1);
  • after you verify that the upload is successful you need to navigate to Extension > Modifications and click the refresh button (see picture 2) to update the modification cache.

Description

You may get this message if the modification entry with the extension code is disabled in the modification list (Admin Panel > Extensions > Modifications).

  • navigate to Extension > Modifications and click the enable button of the extension modification, for example (see picture 1 below);
  • after successfully enabling the modification you need to apply the changes by click the refresh button at the upper right corner (see picture 2 below).

Description

You may get this error if the changes described in the OCMOD modification file for some reason have not been applied to the core system files and, as a result, some of the extension features may not work partially or completely.

Workaround/Fix

Please do the following:

  • navigate to Extension > Modifications and click the refresh button at the upper right corner (see picture 1/3 below) to apply the extension changes and update the modification cache. Please note that after refreshing the cache, the modification logs must contain the records of changes made by the extension to the system files (see picture 1/1 below), in case the log list is too long (page takes a long time to load) you can clear it (see picture 1/2 below) and refresh the modification cache again (see picture 1/3 below) to generate a new list.
  • for OpenCart 3.0 and above you need to refresh the OpenCart theme cache (see picture 2 below);
  • if your website has a caching system (e.g. theme cache as in Journal theme or an extension to speed up the site load), you also need to clear its cache.
